Brother Sister Neighbor Friend puts a new face on 9-11

Journeys to Understanding is sponsoring a nationwide interfaith media campaign that makes getting to know each other fun. It’s called “Brother Sister Neighbor Friend” and its purpose is to let YOU help create a more positive, realistic story about our nation’s rich diversity. As the tenth remembrance of 9-11 approaches, we believe it’s time to use 9-11 as a day of joining hands, celebrating our nation’s broad and diverse religious and cultural expression.

Here’s how to participate:

1) If you know someone who is wonderfully different from you (and who doesn’t?) – particularly if they are of a different faith expression from your own, we want you to introduce him or her to the world.

2) Using the video camera on your smartphone or flipcam, take 30 seconds or so and introduce that person to us – and tell us why you consider him or her a brother, sister, neighbor, or friend.

3) After you have made your video, upload it to your YouTube site.

4) Send US the URL to your video. We will add it to our page, where the best videos will be part of a larger piece we’re preparing for use all around the country on the 10th remembrance of 9-11.

Here’s the place to send your URL: info@journeystounderstanding.org.
